who the heck is taking these photos anyway?

Howdy,

I'm Ro!

Your personal

visual storyteller

A queer nuptial & portrait photographer with a soft spot for adventurous folk, a fierce love for all things film, and a passion for documenting big days and small moments.

Whether you're venturing through the day-to-day, or embarking on a journey of uncharted wonders, count me in to cheer you on as we capture all the feels in real-time with

raw,

candid,

honesty.

A colorful film photo from Vermont. It's a double exposure of pruning shears, and redbud flowers and a man in a sun hat doing garden chores.

it all started in the darkroom

The first time I dunked film into the stop bath and watched as photos slowly appeared under the haze of the amber lights, I was HOOKED!

Pretty soon after that first roll of film I was off,  jumping from the darkroom to the real-world, weaving photography into the soft fluid in-betweens of big events and small ones alike.

It was here that I fell in love with the process of documenting these moments and most importantly in the power of photography as a shared activity of remebering.

Thousands of photos later, countless memories captured, and here we are.

It is truly a blessing to get to document timeless moments and transform them into tangible photographs; a tiny time-capsule you can hold in your hand and feel again.

I look forward to creating yours next!

Let me be Your newest old friend

I know how intimidating it is to be in front of a camera all of a sudden, unsure of where to look, and what to do. I mean, really what do you do with your hands?!

Do not fret! Shooting with me feels like hanging with a treasured friend who just so happens to have a trusty camera with them.

My main focus is to ensure you're at ease and comfortable for the whole shoot! Together we construct an atmosphere that allows you to feel safe and free to be unapologetically yourself.

No need to stress about being thrown into a set of stiff poses that feel off and disingenuous to who you are. The shoot will ebb and flow alongside you and your goals for the session, no forced smiles or uncomfy poses to be found.

I'll be here to give gentle cues to facilitate those good feels and chill vibes, and most importantly to hold space for you to freely express who you are, wherever you are in the moment.

All you need to do is bring is your authentic self, and an open mind. From there we'll spend our time together capturing the true magic that lies right in the daily act of being human!

As a Queer & Chronically ill person myself, I understand how important it is to have access to folks that encourage and celebrate who you are, the way you love, and embrace your lived-experiences.

Please know that I recognize that Your stories hold weight and deserve to be told equitably and with authenticity.

This is a space for LGBTQ+, disabled, BIPOC, and traditionally marginalized communities to rightfully take up space.

You are seen.
you are supported.
you are at home here.

COVID-Conscious photos
for COVID-conscious folks

Practicing community care includes improving access to the things we all need to thrive, like clean air and intentional viral mitigation. This doesn't change when you're being photographed by me!

I wear a high quality respirator (N95/KN95) for all shoots.

This has been my policy since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and I will enthusiastically continue to do so for the forseeable future.

Whenever possible we'll savor the fresh breeze from cracked windows to improve airflow into and out of the space as we share it, and an air purifier will come along with me to add clean-air ambiance to indoor shoots.

Continuing to take these small but mighty steps to protect you and your loved ones from pathogens while photographing your big & small moments remains my top priority.

Gone are the days of dreading a lengthy conversation about masking up for your photo session or  covid-safer event!

If I'm there, I'm masked.

I'm happy to talk specifics on mitigations once we connect.

Just in case it wasn't obvious by now, i'm big on safety & dedicated to taking as many steps as i can to keep us all protected!

I take on a limited amount of Sessions each year

to balance this accessibility.
